Here is a tongue in cheek warning about a very dangerous substance, DHMO. For more information visit:Dihydrogen Monoxide Research Division - dihydrogen monoxide info

What are some of the dangers associated with DHMO? Each year, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a known causative component in many thousands of deaths and is a major contributor to millions upon millions of dollars in damage to property and the environment. Some of the known perils of Dihydrogen Monoxide are:

    • Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
    • Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
    • Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
    • DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
    • Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
    • Contributes to soil erosion.
    • Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
    • Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
    • Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
    • Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
    • Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
    • Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
    • Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.

In acouple of my experiences opiates do not do a damn thing for the pain, but they can get you to the point where you just dont care.

Back when I was an ironworker I had a friend fall 30 feet and land on his feet on a concrete column pad. His butt hit after his feet and both ankles were shattered and he broke a couple of vertebrae. I went to see him in the hospital and he was so doped up on morphine that he hardly knew where he was but he was still in excruciating pain. Seeing him like that scared me more than seeing another friend fall 85 feet and die a few years before that. Having some single malt chemicals right now.

I was going to link the dihydrogen monoxide dangers link but Lazarus beat me to it. As far as avoiding chemicals, my main approach is to eat real food--that is, stuff that doesn't have an ingredients list.

See us uneducated folk have to depend on google to explain these things ..... here .. I drink a lot of the stuff so I'm surprised I've made it this long. Thank God I drink it with scotch.

Apparently mixing DHMO with Scotch renders it (DHMO) harmless.

Dr. Richard L. Becker D.O. of the Family Network TV program "Your Health" recently quoted from a study that showed of all occupations in the U.S., farmers had the highest rate of Parkinson's disease. Why? Farmers have the highest exposure to chemical pesticides and herbicides.

Chemicals make humans physically & mentally disabled.

Ants invade my kitchen? I break out the boric acid. The powder stays where I put it so i won't ingest it.

Weeds overgown? I spray them with apple cider vinegar. Same stuff I use in my salad dressing.

In this world today, you can't avoid chemicals. Nursing Inuit women living near the Arctic Circle had detectable DDT in their breast milk. Where did it come from? African nations that use DDT in their malaria control programs. Pesticide clouds spread worldwide.

You can't avoid chemicals, but you can certainly limit your exposure.

i guess that in my world, chemicals are the only thing that keep me going, i work 12 hr nights, and then try to sleep nights i dont work, and sleep days when i do and stay up all night to work, wait, where am i at now. oh well ill just take my normal chemicals and figure it out later on. chemicals to sleep, chemicals to stay awake, im just a big pill bottle waiting on a refill.

Water is a chemical, a very strong polar solvent. That is why it is the primary substance that our bodies are made of, it dissolves a lot of chemical compounds.

When one is talking about chemicals one has to consider risk assessment. DDT is a prime example. Since it was banned in 1972 100 million people have died of Malaria. Fine for the rich nations that have eradicated Malaria and a lot of other diseases. Bad for countries that can not afford the expensive chemicals that the rich nations have. DDT can be use a lot more wisely than the way it used to be used and in much smaller quantities and save over 2 million lives every year.

Farm chemical? Without some chemicals the majority of the world would starve to death yet there is always the push to eliminate them. I can grow my own food, can you? I doubt it, because for one thing most of the modern populace live in cities where food can not be grown in enough quantities to support them.

    Later,
    Richard

Morty, you're feeding the troll. The OP is trying to stir the pot because, of course, the definition of chemical puts pretty much every substance you can think of under the rubric of "chemical". Water, Oxygen, sugar, all kinds of things.
