Hotels and their claims department
I've had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with the claims department following a stay this past weekend. Somehow I left my Wade & Butcher (The one with William's crown stamp) at the hotel, two hours after I had checked out I called to explain I had left my straight razor and what did I need to do to recover it. I was first told that if it looked like trash it was thrown away so it was probably trashed. Called back twenty minutes later and got someone else, who told me the exact same thing.
Called again on Monday to speak to someone higher up who finally put me in touch with the manager of the hotel I was with. After a brief conversation she told me that she was under the impression it was just a toiletry and that she'd track down the cleaning staff then call me back.
This morning I wake up to a call from the claims department saying Kathy had called them, the cleaning staff didn't see anything matching my description and that there's nothing they can do.
I really have no idea what to do at this point, I mean is this normal? Should I just give up and mourn the loss of the razor?

Thanked: 150Same thing happened to me with my strop. They said the cleaning crew saw nothing of the sort, and that there was nothing they could do. I bet a lot of these cleaning crews make a little extra cash on ebay with the stuff they don't find.
