When water is forced through the gills of any fish backward, it lowers the efficiency of the gills (which is normally AMAZINGLY high) down to very low levels. In normal function blood is forced from back to front, against the flow of water. This maximizes contact between water and blood. By reversing the flow of water, blood is in prolonged contact with depleted water, causing suffocation.

"Drowning" = water forced forward through the gill.

Your body is creating and destroying 15 million red blood cells a second.

In space, astronauts cant cry properly. Theres no gravity so the tears dont run down their faces.

An earthquake on Dec. 16, 1811 caused parts of the Mississippi River to flow backwards.

And, just because it corroborates something I've thought about squirrels for a long time, it is estimated that millions of trees in the world are accidentally planted by squirrels who bury nuts and then forget where they hid them.
