Thanked: 0Movie Kamataki & SRP...
I'm listed as a Junior Member, but I used to be quite active on the SRP a few years back. I was the guy buying all those razors and making a movie in Japan called Kamataki, putting many of them in it. I wonder if some of you remember... Anyhow, I didn't want to use the SRP as a promotion tool for my movie and sort of faded away, especially since all the new stuff was a bit complicated for me... But thinking about this, I do owe quite a lot to this place and I did give a mention at the end of the credit of the movie for the SRP... So I thought it might not be a bad idea to give you some news about the movie and where you might be able to see it in the coming weeks or months... If some of you express the interest of having more information, I will gladly let you know what happened to this film... Have a good shaving time!... Claude

Thanked: 0I will try to be brief. Even though my movie is not your typical Hollywood movie, nor an action one, I’m quite proud of it. Since September ’05 until now, we did the film festival circuit from Montreal, to Palm Springs to Berlin, Bangkok, Mar del Plata and quite a few others on the way. We did win quite a few prizes on the way, but humility forces me not to be too specific here. For those of you a bit more curious, you might find some more information on the Kamataki official website: http://www.kamatakimovie.com/ I’m not sure if everything is listed, but it should give you a certain idea… I felt stupid for not mentioning it earlier, since I probably missed the chance to meet some of the members of the SRP… If you happen to be in the Philadelphia area, we will be at the Philadelphia Film Festival on the 4rth of April, at 12:30 PM and on the 10th of the same month at 9:30 PM. I will present the movie myself on the 10th and would love to meet some of the SRP members if anyone of you shows up… The movie will also open the ReelWorld Film Festival in Toronto on the 19th of April. I will also be attending the opening… There is Calgary in May and a few other places in the USA later on, but I don’t have yet the confirmations… Kamataki is actually playing in Montreal and doing fairly well at the box office. We will open in April in Toronto and the rest of Canada in the following weeks… As for the USA, I know that our export company is in negotiation with some interesting players, but it’s always a bid tricky with American Independent Distributors… We will keep you posted on that one…. As for the role of the straight razor in our story, some would say that it is minor. I personally love it and I feel it’s fairly important. Anyway, many of you contributed to this and I want to thank everyone for it… Let’s all shave the right way… the only way… the straight razor way!... Claude

Cool. Both X and I are from Toronto and I'm most definately curious about the movie
Edit: Especially since I'm very interested in the process of creation. That's why I enjoy Modesitt's books.. They deal with smithing, carpentry and various other trades, extensively.Last edited by FiReSTaRT; 03-30-2006 at 09:22 PM.
