    Default Sipping ones Moustache

I am reading a book titled Anatomy of a Murder. In this book there is a phrase used over and over. "Sipping his moustache" I do not know what this phrase means. I think it means to use ones lower lip to play with ones moustache , but I wanted to ask.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Is the guy drinking anything during these scenes? If so, I know that when I had a goatee that my drinks would always get in my moustache area and i would have to sip it off with my lower lip. (for reference watch the Big Lebowski when hes drinking his white russians) If hes not drinking anything, your guess of playing with his stache with his lower lip of probably spot on.

Before I shaved my mustache it was common for me to reach with the lower lip towards the mustache to get the droplets of whatever I was drinking. So this is my guess.
