Thread: Happy Fathers Day

A few days ago my 10 year old granddaughter asked me what I thought she should get her Dad, my son, for Fathers Day. Well since grandfathers are supposed to know things like that I was on the spot to come up with something. He plays golf some and really likes the game and the US Open is going on this weekend at Pebble Beach so how about some tickets to go see it. So I look in to getting some tickets from the usual sources. Yikes! Talk about sticker shock! Well out of my price range so I am off to Craig's List and everywhere else I can think of to try to find a bargain. No such luck. Time has almost run out and I am in grave danger of getting a bad on my grandpa card.

Fast forward late Friday afternoon. I am at work as usual getting the week wrapped up but thinking about my dilema. In walks a vendor who has been calling on me for many years and is one of the few folks I know who actually makes calls on Friday afternoon. In the course of the conversation I mention my problem finding tickets and he says if you had tickets for Saturday and Sunday would that solve your problem. Sometimes things just work out thanks to the really good people you have been given the oppourtunity to know in your lifetime. A lot of people are now very happy due to the generosity of my friend.

My son and his cousin are at Pebble Beach for what may be a once in a lifetime experience and they are truly enjoying it.
