Thanked: 3795I am embarrassed to say that I did not read that for the first time until after college. I cannot imagine why this document is not dissected line by line in every middle school history class.

Sadly, not all middle schools even teach history to any great extent. My children were taught very little. I once asked a young waitress who served me a Sam Adams if she knew who Adams was. She proudly said, "Yes, I do. He was a patriot." Impressed, I asked her if she learned that in school. She said, "No, from a Sam Adams beer commercial."
