Thanked: 3795I've never even heard of this show but I'd guess getting $50 for a razor from a pawn shop is pretty much the best one could could hope for. Of course, it does depend on the given razor but in general pawn shops don't really pay a lot. IF you get half the "value" of the item you are quite lucky.

I knew a guy who owned a pawn shop. IME if they offer $50 it has to worth $500 or more.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 23Actually, $50 is more than I have paid for any of my six razors.
Keen Kutter
Case Red Imp
Dubl Duck Satin Edge
Dubl Duck Golden Edge
Geneva Seneca Chief
Boker Red Injun
$50 is just about the upper limit I am willing to pay for a razor.

I caught it. It wasn't a brand I had ever heard of. Customer thought the scales were ivory and it would be worth a bunch, but the pawn store correctly identified them as celluloid.
I think $50 was a fair price for both buyer and seller. The razor was Solingen, had goldwash and emblems in the scales, looked to be in good shape and had a proper matching box.

Back in the day, when i was single and had money, i bought a GT bicycle for $800 because i used to ride alot. I had to sell it and the pawn shop only gave me $200 for it. I was not happy.
