Actually I do recall my father telling me that he spent some time in a U S Marine red line brig. The way he described it I would rather spend life in a civilian prison rather than a week in a red line brig

Not jail. Only as a visitor to a maximum security state penitentiary. Even then, I felt like a prisoner.

I have no plans to make it a home--even for the shortest time.

    Never more than a night!LOL

All joking aside, I did a couple of contract jobs at the old military prison at Ft Leavenworth, I was glad they were paying me to be there otherwise it was not worth being there even for a visit.

I've never been in jail but I'll relay a story of a friend of mine whom I loved dearly. He died of alcoholism almost 10 years ago now. When he drank, he'd go to the bottom and stay there for weeks. When he recovered, he'd go at least 6 months just living life to the fullest. He was a gay man who did construction work. He had taste and style and he knew how to enjoy his life. He lived for today. He didn't worry about the future, which was probably for the best. He was a role model for me.

When he drank, he had lots of opportunities to have run ins with the law. Somehow, it never happened. He only ever spent one night in jail. He was arrested for running naked through the sprinklers at a golf course at midnight. He was stone cold sober. He was simply doing it for the fun of it. He's still my hero.

Man, would I love to be remembered like that! Sounds like a pretty neat guy, Ron.

I got arrested once when i was 12 or 13 for cutting through a city park at night as a shortcut. They arrested me and my cousin for trespassing.

I've only seen pictures and video. I intend to keep it that way.

I always thought spending at least a little time in jail was a right of passage.

Been there, done that, a couple of times. I don't think they will allow straight razors though... something about "policy"... you know.

no.. you can get by with the single bladed bics.. it's the lack of a proper brush lather that would get to most.

    2 Years In Prison - A Man's Story

I just read this and remembered this thread. It takes awhile to read, but is amazing. Usually I get bored reading these long posts on the internet, but not this one.
