Have you ever been snake bit
Or spider bit or whatever?
My wife was tagged on the ankle when she was 16 by a diamondback. Her ankle swelled to the size of her thigh. She was in the hospital for 10 days and was unconscious for part of that time.
She is in her 50's now, but the scar from the treatment surgery is still clearly visible.
I've had a few really close calls with water moccasins but have never been bit.
How about you?Last edited by matt321; 07-27-2010 at 03:18 AM.

I was bit by a rattler once...it died shortly after. True story! When I have time I'll fill in the details

To many times to recount... but I've escaped the poisonous bite so far. Amazing considering how many I have caught over the years...
When my daughter was born (15 years ago) I stopped playing with poisonous snakes, spiders, and scorpions. Never got tagged by them but have had a few close calls.
This pic is one that couldn't be moved away, my wife stepped right over it and by that time it raised up and was in striking range of 3 of our party, lucky I had a snake shot loaded in my 22. We had a good lunch that day

I've never been bit, but I had a few run ins with spiders and snakes when I was in Oz.
I ran over a Brown snake on my mountain bike when I was out riding in the hills near Brisbane. Didnt kill it, but you've never seen a snake move so fast! I stopped not far away and you could hear it hissing fit to bust in the bushes, so I stayed well clear..!
I also got a Redback spider caught up in my T-shirt on another bike ride.
I got a Golden Orb spider in my face when I was out horse riding on Tambourine Mountain. Unfortunately when you're on horseback the Orbs make their webs about face height...!
