The Human Camera
My aunt emailed me this video:
YouTube - Beautiful Minds: Stephen Wiltshire
Her text was:
"Some of us wonder what the best computer is in the world - - - it has to be the brain."
I thought the video was amazing, and wanted to share it.

I've seen this once before in high school, I think it was my genetics class when we were studying stuff like autism. Regardless, it still completely blows me away. I want a pill or something that can unlock that kind of memory in my mind!

Imagine if we were all able to access our potential like that?!

When I was a kid I was diagnosed as autistic. I also did not begin speaking until after age 5.
Unlike this guy, I can't draw in an acceptable manner. In fact, I had an art teacher in high school who was only willing to pass me if I promised to never take another art class, ever.

Yep, that is amazing. I couldn't begin to do that for the town I've lived in for the last 36 years!

My wife and I went to a gallery showing of Stephen Wiltshire's London architectural drawings over 10 years ago. Back then he was unknown, and it was his first ever showing. Of course, he was incredibly young then too. It blew my mind back then to see such accurate drawings of buildings from memory, but clearly he has developed his talent even more!

Wow, that really is an amazing skill..! Definately an awesome video Dylan, thanks for sharing!
I remember seeing a guy who was autistic who became a very good pianist. They blindfolded him at a piano and started playing on another piano just one note at a time, then two and all the way up till ten notes when the other pianist ran out of fingers. He got all the chords and notes right.
So then they took him to an orchestral rehearsal where the orchestra could play far more than 10 notes at at time. Obviously he couldnt play 30 notes at the same time (not enough fingers!), so he arpeggiated them on the piano, and again he didnt get a single note wrong. Absolutely perfect pitch.
Its amazing what the brain can do I think, and this video just shows it.
