Would you eat bugs? part 2
Ok so we have determined most guys don't like to feast on bugs so what if you're over at you bud's house and after eating a delicious meal of whatever while your outside smoking a fine cigar he tells you there was an ample supply of cooked bugs in your food.
What would your reaction be? Would you be upset? No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Yeah, I'd be a little miffed. Depending on what it was they snuck down my gullet, they might see my "delicious meal" again! <- (smiley to illustrate my point is stopping at the line of good taste)
I don't mind experimenting with different foods, but not everybody feels that way. I prefer to let people know what I'm serving them, epsecially if it's not what's considered "usual" fare for them, so that they have a choice. I'd like to have that same choice.
I also have dined under the condition of "I don't want to know what this is," but again, that was my choice to make.

If I enjoyed the meal I'd be happy that they introduced me to whatever it was that I ate and enjoyed. If I loved the meal I would probably be pretty thankful. I discovered plenty of foods this way when I was a kid and my mom would just tell me to "try this". I think I would question what an ingredient is in the first place, but I'd probably still taste it if it smelled delicious.

I don't really care one way or another, but I have tried many foods considered odd in our society. I guess I will eat anything that's not beef or pork.

I'd be glad he didn't tell me before hand and get back to discussing the cigars and the ladies ... and maybe razors.

I dont think I'd mind if the dinner had been good. Thats how I first tried snake after all: I was out at a restaurant, someone went "try this" so I did, it was tasty so I ordered some and it was only after the event that I found out it was snake.
