Water Softener advice
My trusty old Kenmore just died and was wondering if any of these new "no salt" or other types are worth looking into. Part of a good shave is getting good lather. Without my soft water I am going too get frustrated trying to get that perfect shave.
Thanks Glen

I've had a kennetico for about 20 years now. They are pricey but don't use any clocks or electricity. They use water pressure and turbines to operate but they do use salt. They last forever.

Thanked: 4While you're trying to figure out what kind of softerner to buy, go buy some distilled water to use for your shaving. It will give you the best water that can be used for shaving, and will provide a benchmark to determine how well your new softerner is working.

During my 16+ years as a building contractor I installed (and had installed) many softners. IMHO the Kenmores are the most reliable. It seemed I was always calling repairmen to work on the others during the warranty period. Right now at the City (I do building maint.) we have a Culligan system and it breaks down constantly. Just my $.02.

Thanks for the idea's and advice. For me the Kenmore has been very reliable and for $25 to replace the little motor on top it should give me a few more years of service. Thanks Glen
