Default Quotes that get you going

    Gentlemen:

I've never been much of a quote user, meaning that I don't tend to quote poems or passages of books when in a conversation. I read and study, but I seldom memorize things of any sort.
However, there are bite-size quotes that are so embeded with power and energy that, in certain moments of life, they tend to show themselves and act as fuel for a new surge of energy in order to face the odds.
When I came to Brussels - alone - I was facing the unknown. First job, first time living abroad, first time living independantly from my family and about to share my life with my girlfriend (now promoted to a pre-wife rank...). It was tough finding a house and adapting to the new settings. And I was always alert, always looking out for dangerous things. It is Europe and a very civilized and cool city. But when you're on your own, you are on your own and you have to look like nobody will mess with you...
During those (fortunately few...) days one phrase kept popping into my mind and pushing me forward.
    These are the words:
    "Keep buggering on!"
Those of you acquainted with WWII and Sir Winston Churchill will have recognized them. They inspire me every time I hear them. When the days are bleek and somber and my "black dog" can be heard barking in the distance, I remember the words and bugger on...
The fact is that those words represent the sheer willpower of a people faced with incredible odds during one of the most fearfull times I can possibly imagine. And he inspired his people to go on till the end - "if necessary, alone..." - and face those odds. He and Britain kept buggering on... And so do I when I think of those words.

So, what quotes get you going?

    KBO, everybody!

Life is just froth and bubble,
but two things stand like stone,
    Kindness in anothers trouble,
    and courage in your own.

That sounds like Sir Winston as well... and so true.
