    Default Jack-o-lanterns / Haloween pumpkins

    I just finished carving mine.

I tried something totally new this year, and I think it turned out pretty well.
I have no idea why Groucho Marx popped in my head as the face of my pumpkin, but that's what I ended up with.

I did a Google search for pictures of Groucho, and ended up with a caricature that I liked. I freehanded that on the pumpkin and then shaved out the white areas of the image.
Once I finished that, I shaved the side of the pumpkin to be pretty thin, and dropped a kerosene lamp into it. I ended up having to put some holes in the back of the pumpkin for airflow for the flame.

I'd sure like to see what everyone else carved up this year.

    Wow! That's impressive.
It's a Borg cube, right? (edit: I had someone inform me that it's the Death Star. I guess I need to brush up on my sci-fi!)

I have one in the works now, but here are a few I've done over the last two years...

This one was a portrait of my then month old son

And this one was done for my father who was an army sergeant, and my father in law who was a west-point grad, and army major... they thought it was cool

But this year I seem to be drawing a blank so far.. I need some inspiration. I have a pumpkin all ready to go for a nice panoramic shot... but no good ideas yet.
