Thread: What's your view of this email I received?

I could have expressed the OPs point much shorter with the old back east saying that the definition of a conservative is a liberal who was beaten up and robbed the other day.

In the old days anyone who was a burden to society was put out or shunned or left to die or one way or another eliminated. Ultimately a society is judged by how it treats those who can't TRULY care for themselves.

My 7 year old nephew recently asked my dad what a liberal was. My dad said "someone who has $10 and spends $20". My nephew quickly replied "I want to be one of those!"

What was it Winston Churchill said .... If you're not a liberal when you're young you have no heart. If you're not a conservative when you are old you have no brains.

I would delete the mail.
And personally I think the mail is formed in a way that is misleading, as well as using an inconsistent definition for liberal. It is BS.

I can't stand the constant bickering between liberal and conservative. Elimination of either would basically create tyranny. Without Liberals, there would be no social security, medicare, or civil rights legislation. Without conservatives, you'd have men marrying chickens and late-night tv without any jokes in them.

While I've always been pretty far toward the conservative side (maybe have no heart?... but my fiance always makes fun of me for crying during Disney movies)... I love this quote...

Especially what it says about people who are conservative when young, and liberal as they get older... I've known a few of those.

True. A society shouldn't have to set up an agency to force people to help each other, but if it has to then I guess it has to

Excuse me, but I was not making a point only asking for opinions about the email and /or would it be forwarded or deleted.

I don't really believe it's a just representation, so I'd probably delete it. I bet it makes Conservatives feel good about them selves, though, I guess something should be out there to lighten them up a touch.
