I don't mind the cold.. I just wish there was more snow to go along with the cold. Then again growing up in Michigan this is pretty normal. I think the only thing I have really noticed is that the schools are wimpier and closing schools because of the cold instead of road conditions. I never remember hearing of kids getting frost bite waiting for the school bus outside when I was a kid.
As far as global warming/cooling goes if you chart something long enough of course you can show your are in a warm up /cool down over a certain length of time just like trying to predict a bull or bear market for stock trading.
I hope the OP realizes that it is global warming that is contributing the more extreme winters.
Uhmm..The NOAA and the IPCC were convened/have been working on this issue long before Obama took office. Guess they didn't take orders well when Bush was in office, since they said the same thing back then.
As far as your point about how cold it is were you are: anyone who thinks that the fact it is very cold (or very hot )where they live is relevant evidence which corroborates or refutes the science behind global warming has no idea what they're talking about. Local temps have nothing at all to do with global phenomena. That's why the NOAA data is for "global" temps. See?
That's nice, but the URONG and the WTVR met just a few minutes ago and determined your argument is invalid. I could go back to Reagan and Lincoln and the Magna Carta if I wanted to
Explain to me what a "global" temp is, if not an average of "local" temps.
In response to the post below: All I am trying to do is answer the "what the heck do they know?" question which was posed to me. Don't try to burn the pot and I won't try to stir it
