    I don't mind the cold.. I just wish there was more snow to go along with the cold. Then again growing up in Michigan this is pretty normal. I think the only thing I have really noticed is that the schools are wimpier and closing schools because of the cold instead of road conditions. I never remember hearing of kids getting frost bite waiting for the school bus outside when I was a kid.

    As far as global warming/cooling goes if you chart something long enough of course you can show your are in a warm up /cool down over a certain length of time just like trying to predict a bull or bear market for stock trading.

    My wife taught at a school in Quesnel B.C. from the late 1960s into the '70s. Two schoolkids froze to death at the roadside waiting for the bus. They made a rule that the kids didn't attend school at -25deg or lower, though the staff had to go in.
