I like Top Gear on BBCA, can not stand the American Top Gear. Changed the channel after about 10 minutes when it looked like they were copying the original.

Thanked: 234It's been sucessful in other countries though, the franchise I mean. Maybe they're just settling in?
I hear the UK lot had a shot at presenting it but couldn't be bothered to try too hard for the interview, huge mistake I think.

The UK crew is busy enough with the UK version they all have other gigs as well. Plus I don't think Jeremy is aloud to drive over here after his last visit. At least for a couple of years anyway.

Thanked: 234I think that whole theme is sensationalised on the show, I read (but can't find!) and interview with James May RE the US top gear, he was saying they didn't really try to get the US show, saying they didn't produce any really new material and just used clips from previous series and tried to americanise them with the voice over - sounded like they all thought they had it in the bag anyway.
I'll have to have a look at the US one. I'd really like to see the Australian version as well, that's meant to be pretty good.Last edited by gregs656; 01-15-2011 at 01:21 PM.
