It is also worth noting that it depends on the member itself.
People will make mistakes (intentionally or accidentally) but if he is a member in good standing who's been here for a while, they will not be banned for permanently. Otoh if a newbie start coming here, is abrasive from day 1 and it gets downhill from there, chances are he will be gone for good because there is no point in letting him come back.
But indeed 99.99% of all people on the banned list are spammers. Often you can see the accountname being something like something1, something2, something345... although in some cases they made up a new username every time they were banned.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 1371You don't block their IPs when you ban them?
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I have never read the site rules and regulations.
I have never been banned.
I self banned once upon a time. it was silly
If I haven't been banned then I reckon getting banned is near impossible unless you are a spammer

I know this could be tricky since most ISPs I know of are setup to use DHCP style IP addresses so if they banned by a single IP in a couple of weeks or a month when the ISP resets their DHCP addresses assigned they would then be able to continue on their marry way by creating a new account. Business accounts are the only ones I know of that have a specific IP address or people running websites out of their home may have a static IP as well.

One thing that should be noted is before a member is banned there is a discussion amongst all mods, super mods and a word from the admins. If you get banned, temp or permanent ALL mods are well aware. No bans are made by one person to avoid personal biases.
If one is to be banned they will "see it coming down the pipe".
Also, if you get a PM from a mod, super mod or admin, take the time to respond in a professional, civilized, and gentlemanly or lady like fashion. And for Heaven's sake, don't respond when you are still upset, under the influence of alcohol or doctor prescribed medication that makes you feel "loopy". It only makes things worse.
