Thanked: 983I find it much easier to use the actual book, but I have also used the computer for numbers. Not everyone I deal with has a listing online...Or none that I've been able to find at least...And I'm only just a beginner with "smart 'phones". They seem like a quick way to throw money away on this ethereal thing called internet access though.

Thanked: 23A couple of weeks ago, we tried to convince the delivery guy we did not want 24 books at our office. The conversation went something like this:
"Do you need any more?"
"We don't want any."
"Ok, Well, I'll just leave these here just in case"
"Actually, it would really be helpfull if you just kept them"
"Oh, Well, I'm just going to leave these here in case anyone wants one"
Luckily, they have just came up with this:
Opt Out of Yellow Pages, White Pages & Phone Books Delivery, National Yellow Pages Opt Out Site
There is some registration, but you can opt your address out of delivery now!

My internet had problems. I didn't feel like hacking the neighbours' wifi who've started encrypting them over the last several years (I go ATG and used to encrypt when nobody did, now I don't encrypt but log and shape the traffic of anybody who is 'clever' enough to use my wifi).
So, I found the number to call in the one old phonebook that's still sitting on my shelf, since it was faster.
