    What on earth would possess someone to do something like this? It's one thing to be proud of a football team, but it's another thing altogether to do something malicious against a rival team's iconic landmark:

    Thats horrible why take out a 100 + yr old tree. I love my sports teams (they have done well this yr) but not to destroy anything related to another team.

    Makes no sense to me. I hope they make the guy pay for them. The LSU campus is heavily populated with oaks. It could easily happen there.
