This is a photo that won a Pulitzer prize in 1977. It was taken in Bangkok, Thailand and I do not know the circumstances. What fascinated me about it was the varying expressions on the people watching. Many are repelled while others are smiling. Unfortunately the image quality is lacking but if you see it in a clearer photo it is striking, no pun intended. We've seen similar examples in photos of lynchings in my country, in bygone days, where the participants are shamelessly enjoying the event. We, humans are capable of brutality that is quite shocking no matter what geographical area we come from.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
