It is a funny thing, rich Americans tend to stay at home rich Europeans travel and vacation alot. ( first two are generalizations) Rich Chinese get out of china. ( this is a fact)
Lx, please keep in mind we have one official news station for 1.3 bil folks in fact when its 6 pm here you have two choices state sponsored news ( A lot like soviet times or N Korea I would imagine) which is on nearly every channel or historical and moralistic dramas. so you can say that that site is bad mouthing but in fact it is only a site which is providing translations of the unofficial news and comments of the netizins.
the pursuit of the harmonious society is the reason for all the censorship of world views. BBC keeps getting banned facebook was banned six years ago three years ago twitter last week it was linked in. Tienanmen massacre actually gets your ISP locked for about fifteen min as do a few other embarrassments this government wishes to hide.
Human rights . I knew a girl who was not a member but only said falun gong ? whats the problem ? two years reeducation ! some big developer paid the local government for some land, boom thugs go in and kick the family out beat them and burn down the house while local cops watch , try to complain get beaten ,ignored or dissapear if you make too much noise.
let your kid play on the street he gets stolen and sold to work in a brick factory. cops just tell parents to forget about their kids.
Yes the world needs more and cheaper products and have no problem proclaiming themselves above this trash but at the same time beg to support it by signing more and more trade agreements. WTO haha rich, china has met less then 50% of what they agreed to in order to be a member.
I don't know , my friends who live in other parts of Asia have their mind blown when they stay here for any length of time. I bought a house in Japan just to have a place to relax. but this is the place to make money not a whole lot happening anywhere else.

Glenn ,
That's a great question. I would have to answer, I do it because my company is here and I have no problem with taking money from anyone.
Its a favorite past time here to slag this place.
But to be fair, no matter where we all are from ( ex-pats) most job markets are drying up in our motherlands , its better to earn then to sit around on the dole or work at McD making no money and having some child tell us how to do push buttons.

If you watch Houston animal cops and you'll know you don't have to travel to China for cruelty to animals. Dog fights, c*ck fights etc. are organised in the West as well.

@ shayne: Now you are talking about the China I detest, slaughtering a dog for food is acceptable to me, we all need to eat. The corruption and total lack of respect for human life is detestable to say the least. It is a moral shame that our corporations and the government they have bought have made China great, all for their love of money.

Apparently not. As you were, or will be, or whatever.
