Advice please
I want to ask you your opinion as most all of you do a bit of internet shopping.
I recently ordered several knives from an online vender who was advertising in a well regarded forum.
His feedback numbers are good and he was very helpful and quick to reply while I was making my choices but after I paid and asked for confirmation of shipment and a tracking number no emails at all.
Since then I have sent three additional requests for the above information and silence.
I have seen that he is still active on the forums since then ( this happened two days ago).
I know I can take it to PP and do something that way and I can flame him on that forum but here is where I am asking you for advice.
having dealt with many sellers here I know the majority are honest as the day is long and community shame is not a pretty thing.
I want to be civil and play fair and I am thinking of all kind of excuses he may be busy with work etc..
But I want my order or my money back ! Preferably my order though.
so whats your suggestions.
thanks all.

A member of SRP bought two custom razors from me. A pair of Joe Chandlers. He is in Germany and I mailed them from here in the USA via priority mail. Took 42 days for them to arrive. I did communicate with him in a timely manner but just saying, stuff happens. Yesterday my Bellsouth.net email was in the tank most of the day. There is no excuse for a seller not communicating unless there is a valid reason. Whether there is or not remains to be seen. I would give the knives a reasonable amount of time. Since you say the seller has positive feedback all will probably be well.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1936Give it a few days...like 7 or so. Things happen in folks personal lives that are a priority over the selling of a knife or two. What if their family had a wreck, computer crashed, or so on. Get my point. I've been in your shoes and almost pulled the trigger on the flame, but thankfully I didn't. They had a family emergency, his father-in-law had taken a bad fall and later on passed. I would have felt like a total ass if I had been publicly negative about this guy.

There are some guys who simply don't communicate once a sale is over. I guess they just figure you'll get the mdse. If nothing arrives within a reasonable time frame then you can worry but the fact he just doesn't answer your emails by itself isn't an issue or at least to me it isn't at this stage of the transaction.

Well, if he doesn't communicate your options are to either follow with paypal, and/or depending on the particular forum policy with the forum management. Some people are pretty bad at communication, that doesn't mean they're dishonest, but it's really up to you.
Plus unless they shipped them express mail there is no tracking number (there may be tracking with registered mail too, though I'm not sure it also offers insurance). That's one problem of living in another country, the shipping options are either very expensive, or don't offer protection against loss/damage.
