Any Freemasons here?
I am not a Freemason, but I'm looking to join. Its so fascinating. I was just curious if there were any members here on SRP.

Yes. You should find a local lodge where you live and visit them and ask about becoming one.

The Masonic Lodge doesn't recruit so you will have to initiate the process as was explained in the previous post. It is well worth looking into and can help make you a better person. I have enjoyed it for 26 years as my Dad before me and hopefully my two sons one day.
Good luck in your endeavor. Keep us posted if you decide to continue your persuit to become a Mason and a better man. You might be surprised if you do join regarding how many Mason's you know and never knew they were Masons. It is a wonderful fraternity with a few secrets, but it has never been a secret society, however; many Masons will not advertise their membership.
My home lodge in Clinton Lodge #82, in Princeton, KY. During the Civil War there were Officers from the CSA and the USA sitting in lodge together. When the lodge was closed they went back to their respective Armies. The friendship and commeraderie can be amazing.

Thanks!
I don't know if this is how it is everywhere, but in Utah you have to know a Master Mason for at least 6 months before you can petition a lodge. I have done my share of searching, and I don't know anyone who is a Mason. I'm going to start attending some of the meetups that my local lodges hold so I can start the process.
This is the link to the Grand Lodge of Utah.
These are the lodges that I'm looking into.

If you do a forum search for mason, you'll find a couple of older threads about members who are masons.

please forgive me if i am being rude.. i would just like to ask.. what exactly is a freemason?.. do freemasons have a one or two line credo to sum them up?.. i feel as if the only time i hear of freemasons.. i'm listening to some conspiracy theorist babble about how the world is controlled by some high order or secret society..
i highly doubt this.. however.. i am not really one to dismiss the freemasons as something on the same level as the elk lodge...
can someone sum up for me exactly what a freemason is or does?
