    Default Repurposing!

I am the type of person that is constantly trying to think of uses for stuff I don't use anymore. In another thread someone called it repurposing and it made me realize how much I do this on a regular basis. I think I get it from my dad who never throws anything out but always seems to find a use for things.

An example of this is the knife sheath I made for my Bucklite Max. I used an old leather workout belt that our dogs had chewed the end of.

    So what have you repurposed?

might have been me that said that about a guitar strap i had. other things to have been repurposed are old toothbrushes for cleaning guitar fretboards and on one occasion a spanner as a hammer because some bugger on our rig went into my workshop and nicked it. The spanner was used to threaten him to give the hammer back as he had my hammer and i couldn't threaten him with that.

old turtleshells are my favorite thing to transform into a clock.

I use any type of plastic container I can get my hands on for cast bullets. Peanut butter, cream cheese, Mayo etc., etc. I have many of them full on my reloading bench. And Wheel Weights. I "repurpose" them into bullets.

I also repurposed an old cell phone charger to run a baby swing for my son. Got rid of the need for batteries and cleared some space in my junk drawer.

I've taken an old bread machine and now use it to roast coffee.

I can repurpose just about anything into a toothpick, a flyswatter, or both!

A nail buffer procured from SWMBO's manicure set to remove oxidation from estate pipe bits. Works like a champ. Flea Market cell phone case for a pocket watch case.

Altoids boxes make great little fly-boxes for fly-fishing, or ultralight medicine/first-aid containers for backpacking.

Hardshell sunglass casses make great razor cases for travelling. It also really confuses people.

    +1 to tekbow....toothbrushes as guitar/fret cleaners.

I also have a beautiful african djembe on my patio that had a cracked skin. So I took off the skin, leveled the bottom and stained the whole thing. Got a stained glass shop to cut a piece of 1/4" clear glass for me (round), and now I have a great looking beer and cigar table out there.
