I'm a 'texer as well. Same nickname. Used to hang around in the A2 forum while I was driving the Jettas. I still show up in the A3/Diesel forum from time to time as my mom owns an A3 IDI Golf (stick, ofcourse lol).

Thanked: 4I hang out on the Vortex a bit, myself. I guess it's a 'Dubber's delight.
You can find an awful lot of info on the VW/Audi rides on there.
If you think about it, it's sorta like the SRP for VW and Audi drivers.

Yeah, there's just a wider range of people... From punk teenagers who wanna pimp out their dubs with bling, to snobby business-people who look down on owners of older dubs. However, I've come across many people who'd make great SRP members -- helpful, do-it-yourselfers with an adventurous spirit and gentlemen to the boot. I will definitely become active there again when I buy a dub for myself.
