My heart goes out to all those affected by the recent and ongoing tornadoes. My sister in law just moved from El Reno, OK a couple weeks ago and one went through there. Her husband is a HS football coach a little further west of there and they had to evacuate the school and go to the "hidey hole" as she called it, tonight.

Thanked: 3795I have no doubt that there were a lot of good people around, and I was lucky enough that my house survived relatively unscathed in comparison to houses directly across the street from me that lost their roofs, and houses a few blocks away that were demolished entirely. Most of what I had to clean up was the debris of other peoples' houses that had blown into my yard. I'm still picking up glass in the yard. Our garage was shifted off its foundation and we had busted windows and siding, but we were lucky.

So do insurance companies pay for the damage? Do you need special Tornado insurance?

Thanked: 172My condolences to all who lost loved ones and to those injured a speedy recovery. The pictures I saw reminded me of Katrina here in New Orleans without the water.
