Yep, deep fried with onion, cheese, and mustard. I lived on egg cheese sandwiches at Roy's in Waverly, Iowa one summer. Everything on the menu was cooked in the same frier. Two egg cheese sandwiches and a glass of milk cost .65 in 1968.
