Thanked: 235The good and the bad of working seven days a week.
I was working five weekdays, teaching English at a high school. Because I wanted a little more money I took a job teaching English at a language center on Sundays. Anyway, the traffic is getting worse every day and the language center isn't getting any closer to my home.
So I gave notice at the language center and at the same time started looking for other weekend work closer to home. I thought I would end up with no weekend work for at least a month or two. It would have been great to have the whole weekend to myself for a change.
But, before I had finished my Sunday job I scored another job working on Saturday. It is high paying and close to my home, so I couldn't refuse it. So now I am working every day of the week until the end of this month. This is a nightmare 28 day week.
There are good things and bad things about this. The good things are the extra money and now Mondays don't seem like Mondays anymore. Monday is no longer the start of the week, but just a week day in the middle of the longest week.
As for the bad things, my hones and even my razors and I have started to live separate lives. I have been using a DE almost every day because I feel like I don't have the time anymore.
I can't wait for this horrible, long week to end in another fourteen days.

Thanked: 235If I have to spend my first Sunday off with my in-laws I'm going to have a few less in-laws. What I'm planning is morning at the gym, with a slow shave after a stint in the steam room. Then lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant, then home to spend the rest of the day in bed...

Back in the early 90's I was working as an electrical apprentice. The job we were working on had over 100 electricians alone. We were working seven days a week, 12 hours each day for several months. That got old fast. The money was good, especially seeing that anything over 8 hours was overtime and it was double time to boot seeing it was new construction, but most of us couldn't wait for it to get over.

Thanked: 235So I finished working my horrid month of working seven days a week. On my day off my wife and I went to the new house we are building to organise some stuff and do a little cleaning. I had ten minutes to myself during which I tried a straight razor shave in our new bathroom. The shave didn't go so well. it has been about a month since I touched a straight.
Then on to lunch I was dragged into having lunch with my in-laws. That of course was the last thing I wanted to do and now I like my in-laws even less than I did before.
But that night was a little more relaxing. The night found my wife and I supervising one of my brothers in-law installing a piece of art on a feature wall in our new house.
All up, considering I managed not to murder my in-laws, I think I had an ok day off.
