Are you guys anything like the Stone-cutters on The Simpsons? You know, getting drunk and playing ping pong at meetings?
Seriously, though, I have no idea what Masons do. It's a society with secrets, though, so I suppose that's the intent. I did a Wikipedia search, but the article centred mainly around the history of the organization and didn't go into too much detail.
So -- what do the masons do?Last edited by Blade Wielder; 08-18-2006 at 05:14 PM.

Actually I am interested in finding out more. I like the idea that its men only, and membership seems to be based on character. But like I said I dont know anyone who is a member so I dont know a whole lot about it. I know I looked up the lodge in Pennsylvania and on the application I would need to members one of which has to be a member of that lodge to petition for me, so it does seem somewhat difficult to get in, which is fine. Like I said though I want more information on exactly what they do and the whole principle behind it.

Don't the Mason's have to go through
some sort of initiation involving a pricked
finger and a burning saint card?
Uhhh, forget that I said that. Wrong
organization.....

If you dig you can find information on the web. I dug for a while but you likely won't find an exact "This is what we do" type thing. It is a Secret Organization and has been so for hundreds of years. I couldn't join something that I did not know exactly what I was swearing an oath of alligiance for.
If you google the words Free Mason, Masons, Secret Society, you will get something. That I know of even an active mason can't give you many details on what goes on inside.
