Moving Across the Country
First off... WOW
I have been off of the forum for over two weeks now... checking in occasionally but not really posting. I received a job offer in Las Vegas where I was scheduled to begin on Monday the 20th of June. I got this offer on the 10th of June (in the evening). I had to pack up, fly to LV, lease an apartment, have my car shipped across the country, and pretty much completely change my entire life within about 9 days. Not to mention that I had to leave most of my stuff behind with my family in Pennsylvania and that I'll be "roughing it" for quite a while until I get on my feet again.
I've never done something like this before, especially permanently and in such a short time frame!
I'm back on the forum now, finally getting settled into work and to my apartment. I've been so busy lately that I've had some of my best shaves - not quality wise, but because I got to take some time to myself. Doesn't get much better than those 5-10 minutes where I just relax!

Good luck to you.
No matter what, at least you'll have good weather in Vegas

And you get to hang out with Max. I'd move to Vegas just for that!
Seriously, though, congratulations. The deal must have been pretty decent if you were willing to put up with the rough transition.
What, praytell, are we doing in Vegas?

haha nope not a hit man. I'm working at the newest (and best) casino/hotel on the strip, The Cosmopolitan. The bad thing is I moved here from PA where I live right along the Monongahela river... I get flooded once a year on average. I move to Vegas.. no flooding, right? Wrong, Henderson NV was on flash flood watch more than once this past week due to very heavy rain!
hint hint: the Cosmopolitan has some very nice convention spaceSRP Convention 2011!! Worldwide member meet in sin city

Get used to it. July and August is Monsoon season around here. Moisture coming from the South that mixes with the hot air and high pressure from the North. It can be blue sky one minute, heavy rainfall the next. I've been caught a few times myself when leaving the hood from my car down. Gone for 10 minutes in a store and when I came back pouring rain. It doesn't rain much around here, but when it does it can sometimes get nasty. I have seen some of the most spectacular lightning strikes in Vegas. Also more humid. True, not as humid as some parts of the country but 40% humidity is a lot for us as we normally hover around 10%. And windy! Vegas is a windy city. You'll get used to it very fast. But we have In 'N Out. LOL

oh my goodness, I feel like I'm at In 'N Out on Blue Diamond more than I'm in my apartment. I'm really liking Canes as well
