Why we insist on spending tax payer money to prop up a government whose main source of revenue is the export of herioin, I'll never understand.

We're kind of stuck there because we didn't learn the lessons of history. As soon as the UK, Americans, French and other allies leave, the Taliban will be straight back in there from their bases in Pakistan. I don't think we can invade every country in the region, or even afford to buy them off.

As far as Iraq is concerned, we went there to take care of Sadaam. Sadaam long ago had his neck stretched at the end of a rope. As far as I'm concerned, the day after that happened, the security of Iraq should have been an Iraqi problem and NOT an American problem

I've never quite understood why Saddam was much of a concern the the USA, he didn't really constitute any kind of military or terrorist threat, except to his own people. There are many much more repressive regimes in the world, America and the UK can't invade them all on the basis of trying to liberate the people and create some kind of western democracy.

I concur with both of 1OldGIs posts. I will add....He can stop blowing through OUR money like Ed McMahon just knocked on the WH front door. This administration spends money like a teenager! And then points the finger at everyone else. Also stop playing the double standard. And stop lying. And be up front. And admit you are wrong!!!

Agreed, i've seen enough divisive partisan rhetoric by the clownfest on capital hill recently to last a lifetime.....
