Any Yogi's Amung Us?
As the title says: discuss if you'd like or share your story or what you've learned or want to learn
Quick About Me:
Before I started yoga I was a runner and a swimmer. And before that I used to just lift weights at the gym. I've been working out for almost 10years now, and within the last year I think I finally understand what it means to be fit. I'm not it LOL. There is alot of room for improvement, room that wasn't made by lifting weights (no really, I got stronger, but not healthier, and certainly not bigger LOL), or by running (though on any day I can run 5miles, which I feel isn't a huge distance, but at least I can do it), or by swimming laps (but boy do I know how to swim now haha). I started yoga just over a year ago, I wanted to try it, I thought it would be good for my flexibility. What I discovered was a world filled with personal struggles, conquering emotions, feats of strength and balance and yes of course much improved flexibility. Yoga has made me calm down, find my breathing and assess life with a calm and level head. And perhaps thats the most positive thing for me; I feel healthy, mentally and physically.
Trying to Learn:
Currently, I'm working really hard on my inversions. Theres something to being upside down. I feel like a ninja or an acrobat or something LOL
A Quick Message:
All my MALE counterparts out there yoga needs you. Its not just for women. Over the past year I've seen very athletic guys get out done by 5foot tall middle aged women. Yoga is hard, are you up to the challenge?
Anyways I'm babbling when we could be discussing
Namaste
