    Default I have an addiction

I started shaving with a straight edge to save money cuz i was tired of spending money on those mach three razor blades. Then i brought a second razor, then i got my great grandpas razor, then i brought another strop. My biggest mistake was being a 7 razor box, so now i have to fill the box. Then i had to find the perfect shave soap, and the right shaving bowl. I got a big problem, but i am not complaining cuz i look forward to every shave, every since i picked up my first straight razor.

Hardly anyone saves money by taking up shaving with a cutthroat. Many of us have spent enough money on razors and other assorted kit to pay for a lifetime supply of Mach 3 blades.
Most of us even manage to get a shave good enough to justify the expenditure.

True, but my sons and their children will never have to buy a "disposable" razor.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

The 12 steps of NA include steps 8 and 9, as follows:

    8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
    9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

For all those on this forum afflicted with RAD and other assorted Acquistion Disorders, I offer my services. As you have
all gone willy-nilly onto Ebay, visited antique stores and flea markets, and purchased razors and other objects from
various web-based and retail sources. you have harmed me personally by failing to allow me to acquire the razors that
I needed for my shaving purposes.

I understand that none of you really meant to do me harm, but the harm has been done. I am making step 8 easier for you
to complete by identifying myself as the one you must make amends to. You can complete step 9 yourself by sending all
your razors and other equipment to me. In that way you can make direct amends to me for the harm that has been done.
It would make for higher quality amends by making sure any razors sent are shave ready and that any brushes are of the
    absolute highest quality.

You can PM me for my address. I take upon me this sacrifice for the good of all you wet shavers out there. I'm there for you.

My wife has recently returned from Canada after clearing her recently deceased father's house. She brought home one of her grandfather's cutthroat razors, the other was rusted beyond use. None of his sons, grandsons or great-grandsons were remotely interested in learning to shave with a cutthroat or even a DE. The reaction was: "he's really going to shave with that?" She also bought back two near mint 1960s Gillette TTOs, a couple of Schicks and an Ever-ready, none of which were of interest to any family member except me.
