Thanked: 346Sipping rum
Angostura "1824" Trinidad & Tobago rum. Aged 12 years. hoooo mama, this stuff is smooooth and rich.
El Dorado Demerara rum, Guyana. Aged 15 years. Very unusual rum, extremely spicy. Imagine if bay rum were an actual rum.

I've tried the El Dorado. About the only rum I'd drink straight. My mom's loco over it... She's down there right now, reducing the Guayanese national supply of 15 year old El Dorado and crunching numbers for a geophysical survey. I'm sure she'll bring back a couple of bottles, one of them should be for her dear son

RE: Sipping rum
Mmm, Guyanese rum. My dad used to live there for a while and I learned to get very fond of Banks beer and King of Diamonds rum - if your mother encounters any of the 18yo, I'm sure she'd love it.

RE: Sipping rum
A quick surf of the net has told me that King of Diamonds is now known as El Dorado . Glad we're all in agreement that it's good stuff, though.

jeeez Over here in the UK the choices of Rum are pretty sparse .. I drink rum more than our traditional drink of Whisky - and moreso reacently Jagermeister . I could sip Rum all day tho , also lovely in coffee but only on days off .. !
