Autistic kid at 'So you think you can dance'
Yesterday I watched a part of 'so you think you can dance' and I saw this autistic kid. Imo, what Susan Boyle was for singing, this kid is for dancing.
He is autistic, and has never had any dance lessons. He taught himself by watching clips on youtube.
Now, I like to watch things like this the same way I judge martial artists. Usually, I need just a couple of seconds to judge whether someone is good or not. And actually, dancing and martial arts have a lot in common, in the way they require correct body positioning, control, and most of all the ability to -feel- what you are doing.
I kid you not, 3 seconds into his act, my mouth just fell open from surprise.
At the end they gave him a ticket for bootcamp. But as soon as he came off the floor, the consternation appeared on his face when he realized he had to make a choice (to go there or not). He finally decided not to, since he was just starting to get back to school, and the audition alone had overwhelmed him mentally.
Still, this boy is a natural born dancer.
