Thread: If you park like this....

The art of incorrect/stupid car parking is universal. Still best way to get away from it is to use a) your head b) your steering wheel and c) gears. Getting upset will get you nowhere. I'll agree that a) huge bumpers/bull bars b) Leopard MBT would be nice gizmos in modern traffic but your aim (i hope) is to get away from your slot without causing any damage to anyone or anything. More than nice gizmos, your skills, attitude and experience in driving are the most important tools you have.

Thanked: 983The big black bar is obviously designed to be put on the front of a Mack or Kenworth truck, and not an old Landcruiser, but as you can plainly see, some people will do anything to get attention, not the least of which would come from Constable Plod (police) . We have a five poster for just about all vehicle types...I've seen them on Volvo's, Fords, even a specially made one for Mini Minors, although I have no idea what they hoped to achieve with that...Don't see too many wayward chickens on the roads really...But you can never know I suppose, afterall it's all about preparedness of animal strikes.

Thanked: 46I don't know about other parts of the country but around here we call those things "fishing trawlers". Covered in lights and antennae and usually seriously overloaded they look like their name sakes wallowing around all over the road.
Me, I do like to see where I'm going, but I don't feel the need to light up MickR's loungeroom from my place, either.

Thanked: 983Yes that sort of thing is seen mostly in the more rural areas like big country towns etc. The bigger the town, the less likely something like that is seen...But that may just be because of population density...

Thanked: 46We have a few around here permanantly but mostly they only show up en-masse for the B&S, which appears to be their natural habitat. I suspect, but can't prove, that the owners don't actually have normal addresses but migrate from one B&S to the next until the season is over when they hibernate in a rented garage somewhere, finally pooting the dirt plug out of their tail-pipes when the new season begins and start it all again.
I might have used the wrong tea leaves, too ... who knows.

One day though...One day I'm gonna make up that lack in my life and have the B&S'est ute around! Mind you it's gonna look funny seeing an old fart driving around in a young bucks ute...

Wasn't the Holden ute heading to the US? What ever happened to that?
edit: I see its being sold in south Africa as a Lumina http://www.holden.com.au/corporate/a...ehicle-exports
And the US and Canada have the SS as a Pontiac G8 - but no ute yetLast edited by Brighty83; 10-01-2011 at 07:32 AM.
