Thread: dating a old stevens double shotgun????

Hey guys i got a stevens model 311 series H double sxs 12ga for xmas this past year from my grandfather, I was wonderign how to track down its age ive found out that stevens and savage have merged i know the serial number starts with C...... i can give the rest if that will help, ive googled it and found 1951 1953 1955 all mentioned but thats all coming from people i dont know if they know what there talking about,

does anyone know how to find its age, i look at savage but they dont have anythign about there stevens products and stevns dosent have a website since they are part of savage. any helpo would be appercated

im just curious about it i have a few guns and because my grandfather gave me this it makes it extra special. so i would like ot know more about it.

I can't help with the dating but I can tell you that the 311 is one classy SxS shotgun. You got something special there, made even more so by it coming from Grand Dad. Cool!
