You might be surprised......just because it's a "dry country" doesn't mean there isn't alcohol. Of course, Saudi may be worse than others at what happens when they find you drunk......

Also, I'm usually the designated driver in my marriage. However, I'm going to point out your post to my SWMBO as proof that I need to be the other half more often!

I'm being silly about the designated driver thing (a bit) though it has worked a little in my favour. I respect all peoples, really, I do. In fact good on the guys who had the guts to pipe up and mention it wasn't maybe a real valid thing to be so generalist. I mean, do you think some people seem to have completely forgotten the crusades? Name a country, for instance, that the English, French, German, Spanish, etc hasn't invaded? And they (we?) did really horrible things. And it was invasion, not just "let us go there, teach the natives some good things and make that very wasted countryside useful". I think there are good and bad things in many cultures. There is something to be said about the 'place' of a woman in a marriage, as there is something to be said for the 'place' of a man. I remember years ago, as a school kid, being told off for not giving a lady my seat. These days, I'm fearful of being told off if I DO give a lady my seat! I'm not saying women shouldn't drive, I'm saying we should not have a 'holier than thou' attitude, because, at the end of the day we are ALL just a little (lot?) f'd up... (are we not?)...

Peace to you all. I think it's really getting to the point on this thing we call a planet that we either work together or we start eating soylent green...

Point of order. Driving a car will not make a woman not a virgin (although often times parking one has this effect :) ) Not sure where they're getting the connection to prostitution or pornography (which is already wildly popular throughout the middle east even where women can't drive)

I've found plenty of stupid, irrational, and needy ones over the years. Some may have been a little loose but they came with a double dose of the aforementioned issues or a triple dose of the crazy which makes them a bit loose, but certainly not easy :(
