Paypal Dissapoints Me!
I put a transfer from my checking account to my Paypal account on Tuesday, and had put a Boker Edelweiss from SRD in my shopping cart that evening. The funds were taken out of my account on Wednesday but just appeared in my Paypal account today. Went back to SRD to finish my order and the Boker is now out of stock.I realize they tell you 3-5 business days but I don't see why it takes that long with everything being electronic nowadays. Oh well, I chose a Dovo Natural as a replacement and will get the Boker eventually, and the Dovo is an attractive razor in its own right.

Thanked: 459Hook up a credit card as an alternate source of funding. i'd rather have the paypal card than attach my bank account to their payment system, anyway.
Besides, the paypal card is a rewards card and you get something in the range of just under 1% cashback, and you never have a situation where your account is waiting to clear.

Its bureaucrat retardation. Its the same reason that I can post something on here or on facebook and within seconds all my friends all over the world can see it. Yet it has taken ATT over 6 months to get my phone, internet and TV bundled and they still don't' have it right.
For some reason the moment a dollar sign is typed an intelligent computerized system turns into a chronic short bus zoo trip.

You think thats bad, a transfer from a Canadian bank account takes 8-10 business days (10 IME), yet they withdraw it the next day, so I wonder what are they doing with my money for 9 days?

I was a victim of identity theft 20yrs ago, it took me almost 15 years to clear everything up, and still every now and then problems arise (few months back I tried to get a library card and was informed I had one and owe the library almost $1000 in stolen CDs and books) so while I do have credit cards I am not willing to take the chance with any internet based businesses no matter how reputable. If they get at my checking account I only lose at most a couple grand. Believe me if someone gets your info they can do things that you wouldn't believe, my guy got arrested, charged, convicted and served 6 months in jail under my name, leaving me with a criminal record that took years and thousands of dollars in Lawyer fees to straighten out. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I ain't taking any chances.

There are different ways for paypal to deduct the money from your account. I'm pretty sure you can pay with 'Instant Transfer' from your bank account by just following the checkout process from straightrazordesigns. Or even if you'd used the slow bank transfer version, if that was initiated during a purchase checkout (instead of first transferring money from paypal and wait for the funds to clear before going to srd to make a purchase), then the razor would've been reserved for you and shipped when the funds had cleared.
I am not sure why paypal has several of these money transfer options, but I suspect that ultimately it's because the less convenient ones make them more money.
It may be useful for future reference to familiarize yourself with the various ways of using paypal, so that you can pick the one that suits you best.
