Thanked: 247safe video player download?
Ok, so apparently media player no longer plays mpegs? I tried to make a "critique my honing" video, only to discover I have no way of viewing it. Anyways, this has prompted a two hour search for a download that'll allow me to view my video without downloading a million different "free" applications I don't want and don't need. VLC only gave me audio, and my Norton scrip doesn't trust FLV. Any suggestions?

Thanked: 247Yeah I'm starting to think maybe it's something faulty with the camera. Quicktime won't play it, Media player won't play it, VLC just gives audio..idk. I'm stumped.

Media player classic plays darned near anything, and it's safe. I've used it for years with no spyware/malware problems. But if you can't get an mpeg to play on WMP, then I reckon you've got a faulty mpeg.

I loath Flash video files!
I had a the same problem with VLC and the problem was solved by going to the properties and adding (checking) the FLV codec. In some instances when VLC is installed it may not install that particular codec but if you accept the FULL codec pack it will be enabled.
If you have an FTP I can d/l it and run it through some equipment and help you out.

WMP on XP stopped working on old MPG's some time ago. I recently switched to W7 and WMP seems to be working again.
I use Winamp for FLV and to play Mp3s.

Thanked: 124Yeah, the right codecs might not be installed. Also you might try anther type of output file from the camera if you have that option.
