Thanked: 1185@Crotalus: You mean you haven't heard that Barack Hussein Obama (MMM! MMM! MMM!) Would have had this entire country running like the proverbial well oiled watch if it weren't for those pesky founding Fathers and their silly Constitution I guess this is probably one of the swell surprises Nancy Pelosi promised us once they passed the bill. Let's hear it for the most transparent administration in history! Every bloated Nanny State ever attempted in recorded history has FAILED MISERABLY and we're lucky enough to have such benevolent leaders as these to lead us right down the same path. Like you, I'm just a simple Southern boy so I guess there's lots of things I don't know real well but what I do know is, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Something else I know very well is that you'll never change the mind of a liberal or progressive, they are wholeheartedly convinced that the bulk of us are completely incapable of tending to our own affairs and that the only solution is womb to tomb security provided by government. It will be little consolation but when Florida and the rest of the United States is experiencing what Greece, is going through at the moment, at least we can say, I told you so. I'm through, no more responses from me, no pissin matches just popped in with my $.02

Nonetheless, it's pretty flimsy data upon which to base a comparison of nations' healthcare systems. As to the Canadian healthcare system, it has its flaws, yes, but it has worked very well for my family for all my life and my confidence in our system is quite firm. I can safely say that I prefer our system to the one in your country, based on my limited knowledge of the situation. I guess that's why I'm here and you're there. There are Canadians who choose to go to the USA for treatment, but then again, there are those who choose to go to Mexico, Brazil, Europe or other countries, as well. I don't pretend to know all the reasons why. There are some half-decent links here about the numbers of medical travellers in the world and the countries where they choose to have their care: Medical tourism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So yes, some Canadians choose to have their medical care in the US, for differing reasons, but it's a very small number and only serves as an interest piece, not as a condemnation of the medical system in our country. (here's another intestesting study source)

I read several threads on the subject. They all claimed that Brit dentistry was great, but Brits didn't feel the need to take their teeth to the standard Americans do.
Could it be that they have been indoctrinated to accept less?
