Sigh
Sigh...... It sucks when a relationship begins to fail. No matter how hard you try it's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Was in a terrible 17 year marriage and finally I built up enough to where it was suicide or ask for a divorce. I got divorced and found what I believed to be my soulmate. That kind of exciting love. She moved in and shes been here over a year and it has been wonderful up until today I got the " I need some alone time" speech. We fought etc but in my heart I know it's the end. Maybe love can't conquer all. Sorry to vent here but I needed to or I would just burst into tears.

I'm sorry to hear that man!
I will say some times a little alone time can brighten the path! My new fiancé and I spent some alone time (about a month and a half to two) and it was the BEST thing we could have done! That's not saying they all are like that but show her you care you want this and if it's meant to be it meant to be and if not the path will be brightened to better and happier places, people and things! Stay strong and it will always work out for the best and the way it was meant to be!!

It's probably best to both go to a counselor and discuss what's going on.
I'd recommend a book that will be helpful to you whichever way this comes out:
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that mate.
It sure is sad when one have to face the reality of a broken relationship.
I've been down that road myself a couple times, and do feel your pain.
Only one thing to do though, go about doing what needs doing and looking forward to even greener pastures!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Better for it to go bad now rather than 17 yrs from now. Take your time, there is no rush you have to live your life. God bless, forgive her and go on.

If you were a woman you would probably have a bunch of close friends to act as a support group for you to help you get through this. If this is really getting to you and you don't have a support group like that seek out a professional to at least listen to you vent about this. I'm afraid this forum isn't the best place to do this unfortunately.

+1 with ace. Counseling is never a bad thing. Even if things don't work out the way you want them too, a counselor can clear the way, so you can see the path. Hang in there friend, we've all been there and it sucks!
