    Default Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder - Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet

I am going to participate in this on August 19, if anyone in the Toronto area is interested in joining me in training for and completing the 10-12 mile course please message me. There is a discount for teams to attend so let get a SRP team going. The money raised goes to the wounded warrior foundation plus it looks like good fun. Here is a video about the obstacle course.

That looks awesome fun. I'd join you if I could.

How exactly does one train for an event like that?

Run all day, run all night... with 10# of weight on each arm, 25# on the legs and 50# on your back. up a small hill, like pike's peak. if that does not kill you then add in some push-ups, a couple thousand a day should do it. but the precursor is enough brain damage to make it seem like a good idea...

    just guessing.

i know a few marines who are planning on attempting one. so my real guess is: USMC basic training.

I knew a guy who competed in obstacle courses like this. Survival runs, they were called. Or something to that effect.
His training contained a lot of running to build leg muscles and good cardio.
Sit ups, push ups and pull ups.

And for the rest: he spent every weekend doing various 'off road' obstacle courses where you can train different types of obstacles.
A lot of it comes down to just being in good shape and training all muscle groups in your body.
