Deerhunter-Though many of us self-styled "expert" outdoorsmen will pontificate at length on-line about what to do in a bear encounter (myself included), my hat is off to you for having the presence of mind to get through a potentially dangerous "up close and personal" bear encounter with no harm done to you or the bear. Though I carry bear-spray a lot when hiking/backpacking in their territory, the fact remains that they can be very unpredictable animals (just like us, huh?), and there is no way of knowing for sure if a pissed-off bear will do what it is "supposed to" in a standoff. I hope I have your same instincts if and when I come close to one
There are many roads to sharp.
