Thanked: 94good for you intervening. I know the feeling of bleh. In my line of work I have unfortunately been put in multiple situations where I have had to stop someone in the process of attempting to take their own life. All I can say is talk it out. If your feeling weird about it all talk to someone. Its definitely a situation tour never quite prepared to mentally handle. PM me if you need to talk about it. Again good thing you were there and didn't just ignore her. God knows what could have happened.

I think with suicide you kind of always feel down about the whole thing. I'm not sure you save someone, I think it's more like you just delay someone.

Thanked: 150Could be that she now realizes how permanent that solution is to the temporary problem she is facing.
Bruno, I am so glad you listened to your instincts, and stopped when you did. Maybe her "friends" if that is what they were, now realize her situations and can step in and help give her what she needs.
Good on you Sir!!

Bravo Bruno.
Like others, been in similar. You'll likely have your head in a knot for a bit, but you did what needed to be done. Bravo for doing it. What happens to her from here, you don't/can't know. For whatever reason, she has an opportunity to change because you did the right thing. Had you not been there, eternity was. Bruno will be the toast of honor this evening.

Thanked: 270You may not be God, but there's no doubt in my mind that you were an instrument of God in saving that person's life. The radio program, the rescue. This heroism on your part was no accident, although you certainly prevented one.

Thanked: 16Don't count yourself short, you did more than anyone would have expected of anyone. Whether or not she even realizes what you did, you know.

It may feel "meh" now, but you saved a waterfall of guilt later! Thanks for sharing.

Good job man! In my line of work we deal daily with suicide attempts. Thankfully not to many are "successful". I like your comment about not being the most qualified until u noticed you were only one available. You sound like you would make a good dispatcher lol. Any way good work sir and thank you for being one of the good citizens. Your actions affected more than just one person you saved a life and saved others from a traumatic experience and more still from sadness grief and guilt. Not to get to spiritual about it but your cafe was closed for a reason and you chose the other for a reason and you took that route for a reason. You were there because you were the right person for that situation.

Thanked: 1263It may not feel like much to you right now but you did a good thing...you did the right thing. Who knows what may have happened if you hadn't been there.

You did the right thing. Even if she succeeds at a later date, it won't have been on your watch. Part of living in a society is caring for your fellow human beings, even when they don't care for themselves.
