I guess like satire my post completely missed the intended audience. No need for apoligies gentlemen, I have not noticed that you were guilty of hijacking threads or excessively relying on off topic levity.
As I said humour is an essential component and I would not consider it inappropriate unless it deteriorates into slap-stick comedy routine, that drags on ad-nauseum. I did not notice anyone who apologized here as being guilty of this.
I don't see myself as sitting on a pedestal or being an old-timer. When I discovered SRP a year ago I picked up on the sprit of the forums from those that came before me. I liked it so much that I decided to join. I don't do this often because I find the quality of interaction not to my liking on most forums. I don't profess to know what SRP is except from what I observed; why I joined and why I loved to participate.
My post was not intended as a "slap on the wrists". Instead, I wanted to share my concern that the quality of posts is being diluted from what it was a year ago and that without some effort the deterioration will continue until the magic is all gone.

Vlad,
I don't see your post as being a "slap on the wrist", but I understood it as more to "think" before you post. I'm guilty of spitting out a "smarta$$" remark without doing that. I agree a bit of levity is good, and just about any thread can veer this direction or that. I'm just glad to be here!
