First and foremost, my condolences on your loss.

In a way, you were luckier than I was.

My mom was in hospital recovering from a badly broken ankle. We were visiting, laughing and having a good time. I left at 9 pm.

At 1:00 am I got the call. Your mother stopped breathing suddenly and we could not revive her.

That was a little more than 6 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't wish I had a chance to say good bye to her. That made it all the more difficult for me to make peace with it.

Mourn, grieve, celebrate her life or just simply make your own peace with the loss. If it helps, I know what you feel and I know there are simply no words that can ease the pain.
